BexleyCo has successfully completed the purchase of the Bursted Woods site and entered into a build contract with Penenden Heath Developments on 20 April 2026.
The development will deliver 121 high‑quality new homes for local residents, comprising a mix of 1, 2 and 3‑bedroom apartments and 3‑bedroom houses. Eighteen of the homes will be available through shared ownership. As part of the development, the locally listed former maternity hospital will be retained and converted into spacious apartments as part of the wider regeneration of the site.
Graham Ward, Managing Director of BexleyCo, said: “This is a significant milestone for the company and we are delighted to be working with Penenden Heath Developments to deliver much‑needed new homes for local residents.”
Work will commence on site almost immediately, with the first new homes expected to be available by late 2027.
