Start on Site at former Sidcup Library

On Tuesday 13th August 2024, BexleyCo hosted a start on site event at Hadlow Road, Sidcup. This exciting development on the former Sidcup Library site will deliver 32 quality one, two, and three-bedroom apartments for local residents.

Jeremy Stibbe introduced the event and said “Construction starting at Hadlow Road, Sidcup marks another success for Bexley – more homes for local people and profit being returned to London Borough of Bexley. We have many more in the pipeline, coming soon. Thanks to London Borough of Bexley colleagues, and the BexleyCo team for delivering this successful outcome.”

He welcomed the leader of the Council, Councillor Baroness O’Neill OBE and invited her to lay one of the first bricks to mark the occasion. Jeremy can be seen below presenting Baroness O’Neill with a commemorative plaque as a memento of the day.

Leader of the London Borough of Bexley, Cllr Baroness O’Neill of Bexley OBE said:
“It was great to visit the site at the start of this exciting project. Growth is one of our key objectives for the borough but we know it has to be the right kind of growth.

This ambitious project – that has allowed us to develop a new library in the heart of the town centre as well as a new community cinema and additional homes – is just the kind of growth that we want. I look forward to watching the development grow.”
