The site at Bursted Woods secured planning consent for 121 new homes, comprising 8 three-bedroom houses and 113 one, two and three bedroom apartments, including 18 affordable homes.
A key feature of the development is the retention and conversion of the listed former maternity hospital, which will be sensitively transformed into residential accommodation, preserving its historic character while bringing it back into active use.
Following the appointment of Penenden Heath Developments as principal contractor, works on site have now commenced. The development will be delivered across four phases, with the first new homes expected to be ready for local people in early 2028.
